This reading and visual thinking seminar will look at the work of the prolific architect, planner, painter Aditya Prakash as entangled in the textile of the history of modern architecture in India and the world.

We will read and interpellate two books: India: Modern Architectures in history by Scriver and Srivastava (2015) and One Continuous Line: Art, Architecture and Urbanism of Aditya Prakash by V. Prakash (2019).

Based on class readings and presentation, you will be asked to produce a competitive creative continuous-line collage that describes the narrative of A. Prakash’s oeuvre as entangled in global history.
