Autumn Course Offering: ENVIR 480 – Sustainability Studio

Sustainability Studio is a project-based course where teams of 3-5 students collaborate to gather and analyze data to help clients make sustainability decisions around the University of Washington and the greater Seattle area. Projects are based on client needs but have previously included communication, assessment, reporting, and development of recommendations. Sustainability Studio allows students to gain experience working with clients and to improve the state of sustainability in our community, all while learning about efficient and effective project design and management.

The autumn quarter of Sustainability Studio will focus on cross-sector communication and collaboration in sustainability. Throughout the quarter we’ll be hearing from professionals who work in the fields of environmental communication and collaboration as well as discussing how best to communicate and engage with different audiences. Clients for this quarter will include local nonprofits and organizations.

Topics change each quarter and students can take this course twice.
