Bishop Garry Tyson of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church
Donald King, Affiliate Professor of Architecture
Kate Simonen, Associate Professor of Architecture and Executive Director of the Carbon Leadership Forum
Vincent Martinez, Chief Operating Officer at Architecture 2030

Wednesday June 3 | 6:00 – 7:30 pm | Zoom

Due to the recent events impacting our communities, the College of Built Environments felt  it was prescient to shift the conversation to focus on speakers with a social justice lens and thus have updated the content for this conversation. If you have already registered for this event, you do not need to re-register. Please note, space is limited, so register soon.

These conversations are part of our #CBEchronicles project; learn more and engage with us!

In this conversation, Bishop Garry Tyson of the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church and the Nehemiah Initiative speaks with Affiliate Professor of Architecture, and fellow Nehemiah Initiative advocate, Donald King on the recent killing of George Floyd and the subsequent, nation-wide calls to action. Kate Simonen, Associate Professor of Architecture and Executive Director of the Carbon Leadership Forum and incoming Chair of the Architecture department and Vincent Martinez, Architecture 2030‘s Chief  Operating Officer will speak with Bishop Tyson and Donald King on the power of our communities and networks, and how these events all tie together.

The content of this conversation has changed to reflect the needs, issues and impacts affecting our communities. For over a decade, Bishop Tyson has made it his mission to empower people to change the world.

This discussion will start with a showing of the #CBEchronicles biweekly digest and will include time for questions and discussion. It is free and accessible to the public, and due to the showing of our first lecture, we have expanded space! You must RSVP to attend, a confirmation with Zoom information will be sent to you after you register. If you have already registered, you do not need to re-register.

We have allotted more time for this conversation and have extended this webinar until 7:30 PM, but we understand if you have to sign off at 7 PM.

This is our last #CBEchronicles event for this academic year. However, keep using our hashtag to stay connected with what our community is doing.  We will be bringing you more events like this soon!
