Since joining the CBE community this year, I have seen and more clearly understand the shared sense of our potential to expand our impact, benefit more from interdisciplinary partnerships, and leverage our expertise and people. I’ve also heard about how CBE leadership and voice are urgently needed in the community and region. I remain as enthusiastic as ever to nurture our many current strengths and for the prospect of developing new strengths I believe can be uncovered and catalyzed as we work together.

Our listening tour in January was extremely fruitful, establishing the foundation for an ongoing college-wide dialogue about our goals, strengths and impact as a college. As promised, I look forward to reporting some of the salient results and emerging themes from those meetings and, to that end, have set aside Wednesday March 13 for our next conversation. I want to hear further from you as we continue to refine and define the path forward, contribute to the continuation of building on our strengths, and measure progress toward the achievement of our shared vision. Please join me on Wednesday March 13 at 12:00–1:20pm in Gould 110 for lunch and the next session of A Dean’s Dialogue.

The summary report linked HERE is a great synthesis of the initial conversations and survey. Both of the consultants who were present for the January kick off events will be returning in March, Julius Erolin will attend the session on March 13 and look for additional opportunities to engage with him and me before and after the group session.

I am excited to see you all again for this next session as I remain inspired by the CBE community openness, enthusiasm and welcoming spirit!
