Memory Houses / exhibit + book by Robert Hutchison

As a follow-up to last year’s Memory Houses exhibit at 4Culture in Seattle, Robert Hutchison Architecture is pleased to announce their solo exhibition entitled Memory Houses at Mexico City’s Museo Casa Luis Barragán, within Jardin 17, Luis Barragán’s former studio directly across the street from his residence. The opening will be Saturday August 10th at noon, and the exhibition will be open from August 10th through September 30th. 

 

For the opening Hutchison will also be launching the book publication Memory Houses, published through Mexico City based Arquine Publishers, which documents the eight buildings that comprise the Memory
Houses project, alongside built houses designed by Hutchison’s firm Robert Hutchison 
Architecture. The book was supported in part through a 2019 grant from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, and includes essays by Victor Alcérreca, Taiji Miyasaka, Mary Ann Peters,Pia Sarpaneva, and Javier Sánchez. The book will be available locally through Seattle‐based Peter Miller Books, and will be distributed to bookstoresnationally and internationally.
