Deborah Lambert Memorial Scholarship

In honor of Deborah Lambert, SWANA Evergreen Chapter President 2002-2005 and the many years she dedicated to the solid waste management field, the SWANA Evergreen Chapter is pleased to offer an annual scholarship(s) to qualified undergraduate and graduate students in the following two categories:

Environmental Scholarship @ $2500

Must be accepted for enrollment in any junior college or four year college pursuing a degree in a field related to Solid Waste Management or the Environment.

General Scholarship @ $1500

Must be accepted for enrollment in any junior college, university, or graduate school in any degree program or major

The deadline for student scholarships from the local chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is June 1. To be eligible, students must enroll in college or grad school for next year, be children or grandchildren of SWANA members, or be SWANA members. The good news is that becoming a student member is free and easy. On the application form (which is two pages and does not require an essay), student members just need to list themselves as their sponsors. Applicants do not need to be pursuing studies in solid waste or materials management, although a focus on environmental work will make students more competitive.
