GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT
2025-26 Academic Year
The Department of Architecture has an immediate job opening for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support the structures curriculum (Arch 320, 321 & 322/498) in the 2025-26 academic year. This position is pending final enrollment and budgeting decisions. Review of applications will begin June 18th, 2025.
Responsibilities include:
· Attend class lectures, assisting in classroom management as needed
· Lead sections in Arch 322/498 (spring quarter)
· Prepare and present select in-person and online lectures
· Hold weekly office hours and exam review sessions
· Help maintain Canvas site
· Develop assignments and exams
· Lead grading of projects and tests
· Lead compilation of final grades
· Mentor reader/grader and/or undergraduate teaching assistant.
· Consultation with instructor and other duties as assigned
Skills required:
· Successful completion of course(s) in structural design, engineering or physics
· Proficiency in calculation and quantitative problem solving
· Strong communication skills
· Interest and capacity to teach undergraduate students
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to meet deadlines
Position Details:
· Time commitment: approximately 20 hours/week per ASE union contract
· Open to graduate students only
· In person required
