Despite some gains, ethnically diverse individuals are still significantly underrepresented in the architecture profession. The Architects Foundation Diversity Advancement Scholarship is working to change that with multiyear scholarships, up to $20,000 each, for ethnically diverse students.

We’re looking for ethnically diverse students whose imagination and design thinking will influence the architecture profession and the built environment. Here’s how you can help your students:
Seeking applicants ages 18-29 for the City of Seattle’s Design Review Board and Pioneer Square Advisory Board (one space is currently available on each), through the Y of Greater Seattle’s Get Engaged Program. Must live within Seattle City limits.
The City of Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections, in partnership with the Office of Planning and Community Development, has an intern position available for the Fall quarter 2022. The intern would help evaluate the performance of recently adopted legislation intended to increase the development of Accessory Dwelling Units, including backyard cottages.
