Are you an adviser and want to improve your skills ?

The Association of Professional Advisers and Counselors (APAC) is now accepting applications for professional development scholarships. The deadline for Spring Quarter is Monday, May 3. Scholarship applications may be submitted in advance of the proposed opportunity or retroactively.

What would this scholarship cover?

This is a great way to offset the cost of attending a conference, participating in a class, or otherwise expanding your advising skills. The scholarship recipient may be awarded up to $100 per year. Historically, scholarship awards were only open to APAC members but in order to provide greater access to participation in APAC and acknowledge the times we are currently in, we will be making the scholarship open to all tri-campus UW advisers.

However, we still strongly encourage the interested participants to sign-up to be a part of APAC! We have moved to a sliding scale for membership for 2020-2021. Historically membership dues are $20/year and due to budget constraints across the university, we ask members to contribute any amount that is personally significant to them. No one will be denied membership from APAC for an inability to pay this academic year. Membership dues still help us support the advising community in a variety of ways including scholarship funds for professional development!
