Apply for SOM’s Global Virtual Shadowship Week

Visit Webpage

SOM’s Winter Shadowship is a week-long program that we’ve been hosting annually for several years now. It allows students the chance to engage with professionals in our offices and learn more about the work we do. Although it has historically been hosted by our Women’s Initiative group, this year the program is being co-hosted by all of our affinity groups: Women’s Initiative, NOMA, Pride and Arquitectos.  See the post with more information here.

As an undergraduate and graduate student in architecture, engineering, or a related design field, you will have a rare opportunity to gain a well-rounded perspective on SOM and the day-to-day experiences of SOM professionals. Through a series of online lectures and events, you will gain first-hand knowledge of the skills and education requirements necessary to pursue your careers while accompanying our teams on virtual site visits and attending virtual project meetings as we explore your individual passions. Multiple SOM offices, departments, and disciplines will share both their educational and work experiences.

This remote program will be held January 11th-15th and applications must be received by Monday, November 30th. When applying please attach both your resume and a sample of your work as individual PDF files. Your sample can be no longer than five pages and needs to express your experience and interest in your field.

Recognizing the importance of diversity in design, this year’s shadowship event welcomes support from SOM’s Pride, Arquitectos, NOMA, and Women’s Initiative.
