The Soil Health and Justice Initiative (SHJI) is a multi-year, multi-phase initiative harnessing the expertise of grassroots groups to transform how our communities interact with food systems. This work is in collaboration with Seattle-area grassroots food and soil justice partners.
Contributes policy expertise to the collaborative Soil Health & Justice Initiative (see Interweave Tracks)
Hands-on with community members and grassroots organizations to help shape and connect with new and existing policy and legislation related to public health and environmental justice
Remote, and on-site at local urban gardens in Seattle and King County
Position begins upon hire (after May 1, 2023) through December 2024
Grant funded, contract position: $35,000 first year, $25,000 second year
