Hiring Two Student Employees for CBE Marketing & Communications team – Content Assistant and Web Content Assistant
Content Assistant
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications to create written content for CBE and department websites and social media accounts.
Assist in writing for the college and departments website, social media channels, and other marketing materials. Written content includes CBE student and alumni stories, Q&As, and other writing projects, such as research highlights. Track our marketing and communications efforts and work collaboratively with our team and stakeholders.
Help tell the story of our college, research, and community.
Other duties as assigned
Duties may include transcribing Zoom transcripts, creating and posting content on social media, writing marketing copy, student and alumni Q&A’s, distribution of marketing materials, and data entry.
Required Qualifications:
- Creative, marketing-minded individual
- Focused and self-starter
- Able to meet deadlines
- Basic understanding and experience with social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc)
- Strong writing skills
- Organized to be reliable and dependable
- Possess an inquisitive attitude and a desire to learn new things
- Ability to work in a team environment, plan and organize work, prioritize work and manage time

Web Content Assistant
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Web Developer and Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications to assist in managing content and website post creation and edits.
Help with the drafting, publishing and tagging of posts across the CBE, department, and Intranet sites. Edit pages as directed to ensure consistency. Maintain content to check for broken links, alt tags for images, SEO tagging, and out of date content.
Assist in ensuring our websites are up to date and help in getting content added to the website in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned
Duties may include data entry, reviewing and editing copy for various materials and platforms, submitting content to online calendars, and proofreading communications. Potential to support other marketing & communications efforts such as social media and content creation.
