Opportunities for college students with StormFest!
StormFest is a field-based stormwater learning event that engages all 6th grade students in the Highline Public Schools (HPS). At StormFest, students rotate through five hands-on education stations to learn about their local watersheds, the animals that live in them, sources of pollution, and engineering solutions to prevent stormwater pollution. More information around StormFest can be found at burienwa.gov/stormfest.
We’re primarily seeking station educators. A station educator co-teaches one of five stormwater-related lessons to groups of Highline Public School 6th-grade students. StormFest will happen over three days (June 6, 7, and 8) at Des Moines Beach Park. This is a paid opportunity! Station educators can expect to be paid a minimum of $450.
