The Latine Faculty and Staff Association are hosting a Día de los Muertos Celebration in collaboration with the Department of Urban Design and Planning and the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center. Enjoy traditional treats such as tamales, conchas, pan de muerto, and champurrado and other take part in other fun activities. The UW Intellectual House is located at 4249 Little Canoe Channel NE.

This meeting will contain updates and opportunities around the the tri-campus effort to build institutional capacity for community engagement, time to connect with and learn from one another and opportunities to work together on CE topics. “Breaking boundaries: Transforming research with co-production and bridging knowledge systems” – What role do communities play in shaping research that affects their lives? How can academia break free from the constraints of traditional disciplinary boundaries to foster more inclusive knowledge production? This article explores these questions based on the authors’ experiences in researching forced displacement.
Anti-Racist Community Engagement Principles and Practices – centers anti-racist community-engaged traditions that BIPOC academics and community members have created through more than a century of collaboration across university and community. It demonstrates both the progress and the work that still needs to be done.
