During your ORISE fellowship, you will receive guidance from a mentor and will learn about conducting research analysis within OP. You will engage with current OP staff on policy analysis projects and assignments in one of the following focus areas:
Power Sector: Contribute to analysis and policy design to support affordable, reliable electricity, including on efficient power markets that can meet the needs of the U.S. economy, such as powering AI data centers and new manufacturing.
Critical Minerals: Support implementation activities related to Executive Orders and Presidential Memorandums for critical minerals.
Conduct in-depth research and analyses for comprehensive and long-term energy policy planning and strategy development on domestic production of processed critical minerals (oxides, oxalates, salts, and metals) including rare earth elements and their derivative products.
Energy Jobs: Provide research on and support initiatives to ensure the U.S. has the workforce needed to meet the needs of the evolving U.S. energy sector and create employment opportunities for American workers.
Permitting: Assess opportunities to accelerate state, local, and federal permitting processes including through the application of innovative technology solutions.
