New Summer Quarter Course: Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Resilience to Climate Change

View Flyer

URBAN 498 A/598 A explores the role of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in addressing the complex challenges posed by climate change in urban environments. Nature-based solutions are actions that leverage the power of nature to address societal challenges, providing benefits for both human well-being and biodiversity. By leveraging scenario planning, complex systems thinking, and case study analysis, students will learn how NBS can enhance resilience, support biodiversity, and address societal inequities. Grounded in an eco-evolutionary and multispecies perspective, the course emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, natural, and technological systems in shaping sustainable urban futures.

This is a hybrid course that will occur during the B-Term of Summer Quarter (July 24- August 22).

Professor Alberti has created a website containing important information about the course, as well as the course application for students interested in enrolling.

An information session will be held in Gould 442 on May 7th from 10-11am.
