Circular City and Living Systems Lab hourly student job opening


The Circular City and Living Systems Lab is looking for an hourly student assistant with a focus on WEB DESIGN/ GRAPHICS / SOCIAL MEDIA. The student assistant will maintain our websites and support the creation of graphic material. 

The appointment starts as soon as the position is filled, with a preferred commitment through the spring quarter of 2024. The position might be continued through the summer 2024 and beyond.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of the lab’s website https://ccls.be.uw.edu/
  • Update of two other project websites
  • Maintain news blog, Instagram page etc.
  • Post lab and project news work on CBE websites
  • Create diagrams under the supervision of researchers

Skills required:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and graphic design
  • Experience using WordPress
  • Experience and skills in creative/academic writing
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to establish/maintain a consistent weekly schedule

Skills desired:

  • Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS)

Position Details:

  • Salary: $22/hour
  • Time commitment: approximately 10 hours/week
  • Location: Remote work, regular meetings with Professor
  • Work-study is preferred but not required
